Y5 and 6 London Residential - Day 2

25th May 2023
WOW! What an action-packed day we have had today!! I am updating this at 23:00 after returning from our day of many adventures.
After catching the tube to St James' Park, we took a short walk to check to see if we could congratulate King Charles III personally...but unfortunately he wasn't in. We then took in the sights of: Horse Guard's Parade; Downing Street; Big Ben (Queen Elizabeth Tower); and The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge which gave us our first proper sighting of the River Thames.
The Shrek Experience really taught the children how to ham-up their performances ready for the end of year production as the actors in the experience really turned the enthusiasm button to eleven!
Then we hits the heights in the London Eye which gave us a fantastic view of the London skyline - we could even plot our path from the morning's walk.
Then we got back on the tube and made our way to the Natural History Museum. We got a group photo with Charles Darwin and marvelled at the sight of the blue whale skeleton. After a quick visit to the shop, on we went again to Leicester Square for dinner at Bella Italia. The server was really complimentary of all of the children's manners which was lovely to hear.
The Lion King musical was the next stop and what a fantastic production it was. The children were in awe of the amazing costumes and scenery as well as the singing and dancing.
Finally, after a quick walk back through central London, we made it back to St Pauls...PHEW! What a day!
We are now looking forward to a much more relaxing day tomorrow before heading home!
