History Curriculum

At Sampford Peverell Primary School, we use the Ventrus Knowledge Entitlement (VKE) documents to plan our history curriculum. The VKE document clearly states the declarative and procedural knowledge that our pupils need to know during each phase of their education. Our History curriculum is designed to ensure that children become increasingly critical and analytical thinkers by discovering links and connections to the History they learn and the wider community and locality. In their history lessons, children differentiate between source types and explain how interpretations in History may differ by drawing on similarities and differences within given time frames and across previously taught history.
