Along with all other schools and academies in Devon, we are consulting on an admission policy for 2026-27. The Local Authority is also consulting on its admission arrangements. You are invited to look at the proposals and have your say. Our proposed policy is on our admission page on https://www.sampford-peverell-primary.devon.sch.uk/website/admissions/186080 and you can see all policies at http://devon.cc/schoolpolicy . Further information is here: www.devon.gov.uk/admissionarrangements
The formal consultation runs until 10th January 2025. Policies will be determined on 29th January 2025 and published in the same places by 15th March 2025.
Welcome from Miss Price
I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Sampford Peverell Church of England Primary School.
We are a happy and successful, small primary school at the heart of the picturesque village of Sampford Peverell. We have a strong ethos of learning built on our school values of kindness, forgiveness, respect, honesty, teamwork and courage.
At the heart of our school is each and every child and we value the talents of every individual and nurture a strength of character in all our children. We provide a curriculum which encourages the children to challenge themselves in a safe and secure environment and our aspirational climate enables all children to enjoy learning and achieve their potential - preparing them to live life in all its fullness (John 10:10).
Our children are taught by dedicated, hardworking staff who make learning fun and exciting whilst ensuring that we provide a high quality education so that every child can ‘Aim for the Highest’ and realise their potential.
We believe that children thrive in an environment in which they are happy, challenged and feel safe. We therefore ensure that the classrooms are well-resourced and provide the children with a creative and stimulating learning environment.
We believe it is important to work in partnership with our families so we are an open and friendly school who are eager to work together to provide the best opportunities for our children.
I hope you will find the information on our website helpful. If you are interested in your child joining our school, there is no substitute for coming to visit us to feel the positive, caring and learning-focused atmosphere. Please contact the school office to make an appointment and we will be delighted to show you around.
Miss Price, Headteacher
Sampford Peverell C of E Primary School is a member of Ventrus Multi Academy Trust. The Trust comprises of 20 primary schools and 1 secondary school across Devon, whose aim is to deliver excellence in education through collaborative working and mutual accountability.
Each of the schools has its own Headteacher and these school leaders work closely together to ensure that we deliver a curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils and that opportunities for our pupils are broad and challenging. In addition, there is an Executive Leadership team for the Trust and they oversee and supports school improvement for all schools. At a local level Miss Price works with Ashley Leeson to ensure that Sampford Peverell C of E Primary School continues to provide an excellent level of education for our pupils.
Staff and governors of our school benefit hugely from working within a family of schools. The Trust operates ‘Best Practice Networks’ in a variety of subjects, aspects and phases within Primary Education. The opportunity to work in partnership to shape and develop one’s own practice, and the practice of others, has a profound effect on the quality of education that we are able to provide at Sampford Peverell C of E Primary School.
